Common questions

My prayer times look slightly off. What should I check?

Prayer time conventions differ around the world. In the app, open Profile → Prayer Preferences and make sure your Calculation Method matches your local mosque (Muslim World League, ISNA, Egyptian Authority, Karachi, or Umm al-Qura) and that your Asr timing is set to your madhab (Shafi'i/Maliki/Hanbali or Hanafi). Also confirm Hayya has location permission so times are calculated for where you actually are.

I missed a day — is my streak gone?

Not necessarily. You receive one Tawbah Token each week, and Hayya will offer to use it to protect your streak. If your streak does reset, remember what the app itself tells you: coming back is not failure — that is Tawbah in action.

How do I enable Haid Mode?

If you selected female during onboarding, you'll find the Haid Mode toggle in your Profile. It silently pauses your streak — no penalty, no judgment — and everything stays on your device only.

I pre-ordered Founding Supporter access. How do I restore it?

Open Profile → Restore Founding Access and enter the email address you used when pre-ordering. Your lifetime premium access will unlock immediately after verification. If something doesn't work, email us from that same address and we'll sort it out personally.

How do I restore a regular purchase on a new iPhone?

Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are tied to your Apple ID. On your new device, go to the paywall or settings screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Hayya on your iPhone, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling during the 14-day free trial means you won't be charged anything.

Notifications aren't arriving.

Check three things: Settings → Notifications → Hayya is allowed; Focus/Do Not Disturb isn't silencing the app; and Hayya has been opened recently so prayer times could refresh. Reminders are scheduled on-device, so the app occasionally needs to be opened to schedule the days ahead.

When is Salah Lock coming?

Salah Lock — which pauses distracting apps at prayer time until you've prayed — is the headline feature of v1.1. It requires Apple's Screen Time approval and is in active development. Beta testers will get it first.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete the app. That's genuinely it — your data lives only on your device, so removing Hayya removes everything. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
