Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Hayya ("Come to prayer") is developed by Stick616. This privacy policy explains how the Hayya iOS app handles your information.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Hayya does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
• Your location data (coordinates are processed on-device only)
• Your prayer history, streaks, or achievements
• Your fasting records or dua favorites
• Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) or vendor identifier (IDFV)
• Any data from your camera, microphone, contacts, or photos

This is true whether or not you opt in to the optional usage analytics described in section 7 — that feature never carries your worship records, your location, or your identity.

3. Location Data

Hayya requests your location permission to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for your position. This processing happens entirely on your device using astronomical algorithms. Your coordinates are never transmitted to a Hayya server, and we never receive them.

Your coordinates are saved on your device so the app still works offline: in your profile, and in a local prayer-time cache file that stores your position rounded to about one kilometre alongside a year of pre-computed times. Both are deleted when you use Reset All Data or delete the app.

One feature does send location off your device: if you search for a nearby mosque, the search area is sent to Apple Maps to return results, in the same way any app using Apple's map search does. That request is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy — it does not reach us, and it only happens when you run a mosque search. If you never use that feature, your location never leaves your phone.

You can use Hayya without granting location permission by choosing your city instead. The city name you type is sent to Apple Maps to find it, under Apple's privacy policy; it does not reach us. The city's coordinates are then saved on your device and used exactly like a location from your phone.

4. Local Data Storage

All your data — prayer history, streaks, achievements, fasting records, settings, and preferences — is stored locally on your device: your profile and settings in Apple's standard UserDefaults storage, your day-by-day records (prayers, fasting, adhkar, dhikr, sunnah and reflections) in files in the app's own Application Support folder, and a prayer-time cache file in the app's own documents folder. This data is included in your iCloud device backups if you have iCloud Backup enabled, but is never accessible to us.

If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

5. Founding Member Validation

If you pre-ordered Hayya as a founding member and use the "Restore Founding Access" feature, your email address is sent to our server (hosted on Supabase) solely to verify your founding membership status. We store only the email you provided during pre-order and the timestamp of your claim. No other data is collected during this process.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Hayya Premium subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive, process, or store your payment information (credit card, Apple Pay, etc.). Apple handles billing. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, maintain subscription and lifetime access, present paywalls, and provide membership management. RevenueCat processes purchase history, subscription status, an anonymous app-scoped customer identifier, and technical information needed for those services. This purchase processing also supports RevenueCat's subscription reporting and is separate from optional PostHog analytics. We do not send your worship records, location, profile name, or email to RevenueCat. Reset All Data does not cancel purchases or erase purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat; contact [email protected] for purchase-data support. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple processes payment data.

7. Third-Party Services

Hayya integrates no advertising or tracking services and no third-party crash-reporting SDK. Crash and error reports are part of the optional analytics below and are sent only if you opt in. We do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, the Facebook SDK, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any similar service, and we do not work with data brokers.

Optional product analytics

Hayya offers opt-in product analytics, provided by PostHog and hosted on servers in the United States. If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, this means your analytics data is transferred to the US; that transfer is covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses in PostHog's data processing agreement. It is switched off unless you explicitly turn it on, and you are asked once, plainly, at the start of setup. You can change your mind at any time in Settings.

If you opt in, we receive:

• Which days you open the app, which screens you use on a given day, and how far you get through setup. The records of the day you opened the app and of the screens you used hold the date only, not the time; like any server, our analytics provider also sees when data from your device arrives.
• If you open Hayya Premium: that the plans were shown and whether from setup or Settings, which plan you selected, and whether the purchase completed or failed. This is the plan's product name only; your payment details are handled by Apple and never reach us.
• If you set up Salah Lock: that you started setting it up, how many apps and app categories you chose to pause (never which ones), and that you switched it on.
• Crash and error reports: which part of the app failed, the system's error code, and for a crash the location in Hayya's code, as recorded by Apple's MetricKit. These never include what you entered or your worship records, and they carry the date only, not the time.
• Your app version, iOS major version, and whether you use an iPhone or iPad
• A random identifier that is created on your device, is not Apple's advertising or vendor identifier, and is permanently erased when you switch analytics off or reset the app

We never receive, in any circumstance:

• Your prayers, prayer times, streaks, Quran progress, dhikr, fasting or reflections — no record of your worship ever leaves your device
• Your location, name, email address, or any contact information
• Any advertising identifier, or anything that could link you across apps or websites

This data is used solely by us to find and fix problems in the app. It is never sold, never shared with third parties for their own purposes, and never used for advertising or marketing. Turning analytics off stops future collection and removes the local queue and identifier. It does not delete events already received by our analytics service. Contact [email protected] about deletion of previously received data; once the local identifier is erased, we may no longer be able to associate those events with your device.

The only external services used are:

• Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app subscriptions and lifetime purchases (managed by Apple)
• RevenueCat: Purchase validation, premium access, paywalls, subscription reporting, and membership management (see Section 6)
• Notifications: Prayer reminders are scheduled by iOS on your device. Hayya has no push server and no push entitlement — nothing about your reminders is sent anywhere, and no notification passes through us.
• Apple Maps (MapKit): Only when you search for a nearby mosque or for a city by name, and only for that search (see Section 3)
• everyayah.com: Serves Quran recitation audio. Requests are made only when you play or download a recitation, and carry nothing but the file being requested — but like any web request they reveal your IP address to that host. The Quran text itself is bundled in the app and needs no network at all.
• Supabase: Solely for founding member email validation (see Section 5)

8. Children's Privacy

Hayya does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Optional product analytics are described above and may be left disabled. If you believe a child has provided information through an optional service, please contact us so we can investigate.

9. Notifications

If you grant notification permission, Hayya schedules basic prayer reminders locally for free; additional reminder features require Premium. Reminders are scheduled ahead and renewed when the app runs or iOS allows background refresh. Open Hayya regularly to keep them current. No data is sent to a Hayya server to trigger these local notifications.

10. Compass & Heading Data

The Qibla compass uses your device's magnetometer (compass sensor) to determine heading direction. This sensor data is processed on-device in real-time and is never stored or transmitted.

11. App Tracking Transparency

Hayya does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not participate in any advertising network. You will never see an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt from Hayya because there is nothing to track.

12. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all Hayya data at any time by:

• Using the "Reset All Data" option in Settings within the app
• Deleting the Hayya app from your device

If you used the founding member feature, you may request deletion of your email from our database by contacting us at the address below.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify users through an app update. We will never introduce data collection or tracking without clear, explicit notification and consent.
