The short version: Your prayer data stays on your device. We have no ads, no trackers, and we never sell anything about you. The one thing we ask for is optional, anonymous usage data to help us fix bugs — it's off unless you turn it on, and it never includes your worship or your location. Your privacy is sacred to us.
Hayya ("Come to prayer") is developed by Stick616. This privacy policy explains how the Hayya iOS app handles your information.

This is true whether or not you opt in to the optional usage analytics described in section 7 — that feature never carries your worship records, your location, or your identity.
Hayya requests your location permission to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for your position. This processing happens entirely on your device using astronomical algorithms. Your coordinates are never transmitted to a Hayya server, and we never receive them.
Your coordinates are saved on your device so the app still works offline: in your profile, and in a local prayer-time cache file that stores your position rounded to about one kilometre alongside a year of pre-computed times. Both are deleted when you use Reset All Data or delete the app.
One feature does send location off your device: if you search for a nearby mosque, the search area is sent to Apple Maps to return results, in the same way any app using Apple's map search does. That request is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy — it does not reach us, and it only happens when you run a mosque search. If you never use that feature, your location never leaves your phone.
You can use Hayya without granting location permission — prayer times will not be available until coordinates are provided.
All your data — prayer history, streaks, achievements, fasting records, settings, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults storage, plus a prayer-time cache file in the app's own documents folder. This data is included in your iCloud device backups if you have iCloud Backup enabled, but is never accessible to us.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.
If you pre-ordered Hayya as a founding member and use the "Restore Founding Access" feature, your email address is sent to our server (hosted on Supabase) solely to verify your founding membership status. We store only the email you provided during pre-order and the timestamp of your claim. No other data is collected during this process.
Hayya Premium subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive, process, or store your payment information (credit card, Apple Pay, etc.). Apple handles all billing, receipts, and subscription management. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple processes payment data.
Hayya integrates no advertising, crash-reporting or tracking services. We do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, the Facebook SDK, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any similar service, and we do not work with data brokers.
Hayya offers opt-in product analytics, provided by PostHog and hosted on servers in the European Union. It is switched off unless you explicitly turn it on, and you are asked once, plainly, after setup. You can change your mind at any time in Settings.

This data is used solely by us to find and fix problems in the app. It is never sold, never shared with third parties for their own purposes, and never used for advertising or marketing. If you would like the data associated with your device deleted, turn analytics off in Settings — this erases the identifier — or contact us at [email protected].

Hayya does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. Since we don't collect any personal data from any user, this applies to users of all ages.
If you grant notification permission, Hayya schedules local notifications on your device for prayer reminders (premium feature). These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on-device — no data is sent to any server to trigger them.
The Qibla compass uses your device's magnetometer (compass sensor) to determine heading direction. This sensor data is processed on-device in real-time and is never stored or transmitted.
Hayya does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not participate in any advertising network. You will never see an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt from Hayya because there is nothing to track.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all Hayya data at any time by:

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify users through an app update. We will never introduce data collection or tracking without clear, explicit notification and consent.
