Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hayya ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Hayya iOS application and the hayyapp.com website. Privacy is not a feature of Hayya — it is the foundation it is built on.

1. Data stored on your device

Hayya stores the following information locally on your iPhone only:

• Your first name (used only to greet you in the app)
• Your prayer completion history, streaks, Hasanat, levels, and achievements
• Your Qada (missed prayer) records and Quran reading log
• Your preferences: calculation method, madhab, gender selection, and Haid Mode status
• Optional khushu notes you write after prayers

This data is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. If you delete the app, it is deleted with it. We could not hand your prayer history to a third party even if we were asked to — we never had it.

2. Location

Hayya uses your location for exactly one purpose: calculating accurate prayer times and Qibla direction. All calculation happens on your device. Your location is never stored by us, never transmitted to our servers, and never shared with any third party. You can also deny location access and the app will still work with reduced accuracy.

3. Notifications

Prayer reminders are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. We do not operate a push notification server and cannot see whether or when you receive or open notifications. Notifications are optional and can be disabled at any time in Settings.

4. Analytics and tracking

Hayya contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers. We do not collect usage statistics, crash fingerprinting tied to you, device identifiers, or behavioural data. If we ever introduce aggregate statistics in a future version, they will be strictly opt-in, anonymised, and aggregated on-device — and this policy will be updated first.

5. Purchases

Subscriptions and the Founding Supporter lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

If you restore Founding Access from a pre-launch purchase, we verify your claim against our records using the email address you provide. That email is used solely for verification and is not used for marketing or shared with anyone.

6. Haid Mode

Haid Mode deserves its own mention. Enabling or disabling it is recorded only on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is not visible to anyone else — including us. No penalty, no judgment, no record beyond your own phone.

7. Salah Lock (upcoming)

The upcoming Salah Lock feature uses Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls) framework to pause apps you choose around prayer times. Apple's framework is designed so that we never see which apps you use or block — that information stays inside iOS. Salah Lock is opt-in only, with a single-tap off switch in Settings, and no auto-enrolment.

8. The website

hayyapp.com is a static website. It does not set tracking cookies and does not run analytics. Our hosting provider and CDN may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operational purposes, as virtually all websites do. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which involves your browser requesting font files from Google's servers.

9. Children

Hayya does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because data stays on-device, the app is safe to use at any age with a parent or guardian's consent where required.

10. Your rights

Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control: you can view it in the app and erase all of it by deleting the app. If you have made a Founding Access claim and want the associated email removed from our records, email us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. We will never weaken the core promises — no ads, no data selling, no analytics without explicit opt-in — without asking you first inside the app.
